István Hutter (b. Hungary) is a visual artist with a background in illustration and animation. More recently he is focused on experiments with immersive media and video installations. His work characteristically maintains a strong storytelling bent while seeking to disrupt established narrative structures. His expressive repertory prominently features the use of dark humour, satire, dream imagery and symbolism. His spontaneous working method embraces “mistakes” and “imperfections”. In addition to his autonomous work, he also engages in editorial and design-related illustration projects, focusing on analogue printmaking and small-scale publication.
